Join AnySquared this Thursday July 6th from 8pm–9:45pm during open hours at Agitator Gallery, 3851 W. Fullerton, Chicago. Supplies provided. Open hours for the exhibit on Thursday will be from 7pm–10pm.

This free workshop is part of AnySquared’s Home Not Home exhibition now on display though July 10th. Note: workshop is preceded by a Performance from 7:30–8pm.

Description

This 1.5-2 hour workshop facilitated by Clau Rocha begins with a brief introduction to oracle decks as a divinatory and creative tool with various examples of unique decks.

Participants will create their own cards using guided prompts and reclaimed/found collage materials. Following the theme of building and destroying, participants will be encouraged to rip, cut, and otherwise manipulate the cards they have created and swap the pieces with other participants to build entirely new cards and forge connections with one another.

The session will conclude with combining all the cards into a collaborative deck together and reading cards for one another. For participants who want a copy for themselves, the cards will be scanned and sent the following week via email if they wish to print out their own copy.
