AnySquared’s Home Not Home Series examines the complicated dichotomies of the idea of home and explores ideas of the world we want! Home Not Home themes include belonging/not belonging, freedom/captivity, safety/danger, comfort/discomfort, inclusive/exclusive, building/destroying, and place/displacement. Home Not Home aims to demonstrate that while the concept of home is universal, the experience is very personal.
From 2023 through 2024, AnySquared will partner with artists, venues, organizations and community to explore these themes through exhibits, live performances (ex: music, spoken word, poetry, dance, puppetry, performance art, etc.) film/video screenings, public art, art-based action, zine proposals, workshops, and discussions.
We are grateful that AnySquared’s 2024 Home Not Home activities and collaborations are funded by a DCASE Neighborhood Access Program Grant.
