The poster project was distributed in our neighborhoods and wheatpasted on the streets in 2024. AnySquared is continuing to install the posters through 2025 as the weather gets warmer. This series was part of the 1000 Words | Home Not Home project and exhibition that featured artists in collaboration with writers. Click on each of the 17 posters below to read the poems.
1000 Words | Home Not Home examines the complicated dichotomies of the idea of home and is an exploration of the world we want! Home Not Home investigates various themes including: belonging/ not belonging, freedom/ captivity, safety/ danger, comfort/ discomfort, inclusive/ exclusive, building/ destroying, and place/ displacement. Home Not Home aims to demonstrate that while the concept of home is universal, the experience is very personal.
