Call for Artists’ Proposals: AnySquared’s StreetView Exhibitions in the windows at the Hairpin Arts Center.
AnySquared seeks artists and/or art proposals for our StreetView Exhibitions located in the large 2nd floor windows facing the street on Diversey and Milwaukee Avenues at Hairpin Arts Center. All media considered.
Current StreetView Schedule Through 2017:
Pilot Exhibit: October 16, 2017–November 6, 2017
Exhibit #2: December 18, 2017–January 5, 2018
We are also seeking artists for additional dates in 2018
Deadline for Submissions for 2017 is September 30, 2017
Dates include installation and de-installation. The installation can evolve over time during the exhibition period. Or it can be hung or installed in the windows in one day.
Your proposal can involve a single 9 ft X 9 ft window installation, multiple windows, or all 12 windows at Hairpin Art Center and include 1 or more artists each exhibition. The installations can be hung in the window(s), installed on the window(s), or projected through the window(s) (at nighttime) per specifications of the Hairpin Arts Center.
AnySquared is seeking pieces of large scale and high impact. The 2nd floor installations should be easily seen from the street on Milwaukee and/or Diversey Avenues. We will consider large scale canvases, paint, stencils, vinyl, projections, backlit pieces, sculpture, and installations facing the street. Ideally, any work will also have a plain side or an interesting side that can be seen from the inside the during any Hairpin events.
Our goal is to engage the neighborhood on a regular basis with the Hairpin’s 9 ft x 9 ft windows. We encourage collaboration and public discourse about art, aesthetics, or ideas important to the community.
To submit artist proposals, images of finished work, sketches, video, and/or narrative to AnySquared, or to request floor plans and diagrams of windows at Hairpin: email projects@anysquared.com. Guest curators are also welcome to make proposals.
