Propelled by a deep sense of cooperation with artists, neighbors and the wider community, our mission is to support, produce and promote collaborative projects that facilitate arts activities through inclusive participation. AB(e)DUCTED! The Honest Abe Art Show

THE BACKGROUND:
In December, a heinous act of art theft struck Cole’s Bar and robbed it of its prized Velvet Lincoln painting. Cut out of its frame, all that was left was an empty shell as a reminder of the lack of respect that made it’s way into Cole’s.

THE PEOPLE’S RESPONSE:
To right this wrong, artists and the community flooded Cole’s with newly created replacement Abe’s!

AB(e)DUCTED! Honest Abe Art Show
exhibition on display through April 30
Cole’s Bar, 2338 N. Milwaukee

Features Abe-inspired Art@Cole’s exhibit by local artists and display of actual Abe artifacts.

Opening PARTY, Sun March 25, 8pm-11pm: Festivities included exhibit and artifacts, live historic interpretation, and Abe-centric tunes by Foz the Hook. Beards and top hats encouraged at this all-Abe event as we search for a suitable substitute and judge the Best-in-Show. Snacks provided by Chicken Run.

Established in 1938, ABRAHAM LINCOLN BOOK SHOP in Chicago is an independent antiquarian bookshop that serves the bibliophilic needs of collectors and scholars, professional historians and independent writers, dedicated first edition hunters and casual history enthusiasts.
