Rita Garcia Sindelar | Bio and Statement
I am a 3rd generation Chicagoan born in Pilsen, and also have strong roots in San Antonio, TX. Multiethnic. Self-taught artist. Currently working on an autobiographical project that highlights clothing styles and history at the Mexican-American border. My work is influenced by a number of things: childrens’ books illustration, comic books/graphic novels, street art, growing up in the 80s, my personal ethnic & cultural influences, hand-lettering, & the Memphis Milano movement. I frequently use my robot figure in works of different mediums and sizes, including murals.

°FNGRZ | Bio & Statement
A black queer artist trying to make it beyond Chicago. The city, animation, tattoos and pop-culture has great influence for my work. With my self taught knowledge of realism and expression, my work breathes. I don’t like to stick to one style or medium but through out my work, there is consistency and an underling statement. I make what I want regardless, which is what art should be about; total freedom of expression and desire.

Neida Aguilar | Bio & Statement
I am a Mexican-American women with living experience in the suburban and urban life. Being the first-Gen woman in my family, I have a passion of capturing moments in life whether it seems mundane or intimate. I love to create and daydream. Mixing those two with photography has allowed me to create distinctive worlds for the audience to interpret based on their own upbringings and mentalities. La Jardin De Las Mujeres This is a project about women, for women, by a woman.I want to capture and portray the different roles that women have in society. Growing up, I have been surrounded by powerful and influential women who dominate in their own way. There are women who are empowered by their sexuality and other women who are empowered by their religion. Despite the differences between women, all women carry compassion, love, light, confidence, and sensuality. I feel as if it is important to capture women at different stages and roles in their lives. This series is going to serve as an appreciation of women and their versatility. My style of photography incorporates women in conceptual ways so that every image serves to encapsulate a story. For this project, I depicted women in motherhood, women in sisterhood, women who are both the victim and the villain, the duality of women, the versatility, the sexiness, and the extravagance of women. I want the viewer to understand that the connection between these pictures and the women is the fact that they are women, and women are limitless.
