As a local self-taught muralist and illustrator in Little Village, much of what Mr. Pintamuro has learned stems from the community. In his formative years, he also spent time living in Mexico. His influences include local artists, native artisans, and graffiti writers. He developed his whimsical style through self-analyzation and cooperative civic engagement and has also collaborated with well-known Chicago interdisciplinary artists.

His illustrative work blends Mexican folklore, Manga and the magical surrealistic tradition of Mexican folkloric art. His style of painting is deeply influenced by artists including illustrator Rumiko Takashi and muralists Aurora Reyes and Jorge Camarena.

Recently, Mr. Pintamuro has been addressing the ongoing violence and activating arts engagement in Little Village. He has also been exploring how “neo muralismo” influences new perspectives and narratives in under-served neighborhoods/communities in Chicago.

He travels internationally and makes site-responsive projects where he hosts workshops for youth and adults to create synergistic installations pushing cross-cultural examination, community accountability, history, cultural mobility and indigenous sustainability.

Mr. Pintamuro continues to create colorful installations and spearhead massive mural installations..
